Fall Has Arrived, Maybe?

As the air begins to chill, the leaves crunch beneath our feet and your Pinterest feed fills with chili recipes...

Wait! What? Here in Maryland we are still seeing 80 degree temps and some days feel more like mid July than mid October. We are not ready to trade our flip flops for boots just yet. But we know fall will arrive, probably suddenly and with a vengeance, and many of us will be ill-prepared, having been lulled into a false sense of security by Mother Nature.

This is a busy time of year for most, some of us still getting in to the groove of the new school year. I seem to struggle every October to carve out time for that quintessential fall family outing. You know the one - where you pick perfectly round, bright orange pumpkins, sip delicious hot cider and everyone enjoys a good laugh on the hay ride? If you're really lucky, this is also when you snap the perfect family photo for later use on the Christmas card.

It's a busy time of year at the studio too as we transition from the turquoise and coral beach themes to the jewel tones and dark woods of autumn. But it is also the best time of year when we add more workshops to the calendar and see many familiar faces. Holiday projects are our favorite and we have so many new ones this year!  We hope you'll be joining us for a kid's night, teen night, couples night or one of our many "pick your project" workshops.  It's the perfect way to get together with friends, sip some wine and create that beautiful fall project that will be ready when the season does arrive.
